My oldest son is getting ready to enter kindergarten in the 2012-2013 school year.  Admittedly, choosing a school for him has taken entirely too much of my time and energy - I've been obsessing over this for the last 2 years.  Last night, my family attended an open house for a new STEM school (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math).  The things these children will be doing on a regular basis is amazing - Podcasting reports, using Legos to learn Engineering, an e-Library, the list goes on and on.  But one thing the principal said last night really struck me - they are preparing these kids for the jobs of the future, jobs that don't even exist yet.  That got me thinking about my own career path, which is one I never saw coming. Read more
